Student Internship / Externship Program

Internships and Externships are on-the-job training programs for high school students, college students and sometimes other professionals. While Intern/Externs are unpaid positions at SNAHC, they are vital to the success of clinical operations and provide valuable experience to the Intern/Extern. This opportunity allows the student to gain valuable exposure in their chosen profession.

Interested in applying for an Intern/Externship?
Interns/Externs must be at least 18 years of age or older to work in a clinical department of the health center.  Individuals younger than 18 years may only work in administrative departments to which patient contact remains non-clinical with parental permission.

Individuals wishing to Intern/Extern in a clinical department must show proof of professional credentials, to include at a minimum, an associate’s degree or pursuit thereof in a related field.  All persons volunteering in a clinical environment must complete all requirements as identified in the agency Observation in a Clinical Setting policy (provided at orientation).

THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING FOR AN INTERNSHIP/EXTERNSHIP:

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age (16 with parental permission).
  • Attend a mandatory orientation meeting.
  • For the protection of our patients, provide information for a national criminal background check.
