Nicolas Caballero Talavera, MSW, LCSW
Behavioral Health Therapist
Education & Training:
Masters in Social Work, CSU Sacramento
Professional Interests / Specialties:
I have experience working with issues of grief/loss, depression, anxiety, intimate partner violence, sexual trauma, problems with intimacy and communication, racial and sexual minority identity development concerns, transition-related concerns, and concerns related to traumatic experiences/complex trauma. When creating a therapeutic space, I often use strategies oriented in mindfulness practices and therapeutic interventions such as DBT and EMDR.
Philosophy of Care:
I commit to a collaborative relationship to create long-term goals and shorter-term objectives to achieve wellness. Through a structured therapeutic collaboration, we will create a space to explore concerns and to develop insight into relationships, thought, and behavior patterns. I take people seriously when they say they are suffering. I am not going to question your truth or your reality. I will, however, help you bring behaviors and attitudes back into alignment with your values and beliefs. Together we can create a space to welcome opportunity, awareness, and healing.
What I love about working at SNAHC:
I enjoy working at SNAHC because I have the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
