Recertification Certificate

SNAHC granted renewed AAAHC accreditation

Sacramento, California – August 8, 2019 – Sacramento Native American Health Center (SNAHC) has achieved reaccreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). This honor is accompanied by the facility’s recertification as a Patient-Centered Health Home (PCHH), continuing its legacy of excellent patient care.

AAAHC accreditation distinguishes health centers like SNAHC from other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. Status as an accredited organization means SNAHC has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC. Less than 10,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the nation are accredited by AAAHC. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation, and not all that undergo the rigorous on-site survey process are granted accreditation.

“We are extremely honored to receive these prestigious accolades from the Ambulatory Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). These certifications assure patients that they are receiving the highest quality of care that is also culturally appropriate and that we are not only meeting but exceeding national standards while delivering care our way,” said Ricardo Torres, Vice-Chair, SNAHC Board of Directors.

While on-site survey is an important component of reaccreditation, ongoing compliance and continuous improvement are essential to accreditation maintenance. The intent of accreditation is for organizations to adopt policies and procedures that fuel long-term quality improvement and self-evaluation every day. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services. “Going through the process challenges us to find better ways to serve our patients, and it is a constant reminder that our responsibility is to keep our patients at the center of all we do,” said Torres.

Sacramento Native American Health Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center committed to achieving and maintaining American Indian/Alaska Native wellness. SNAHC’s patient care is rooted in cultural values and delivered through a traditional, innovative, and accessible patient-centered health home.
